West Bengal State University

West Bengal State University was established in 2008 at Barasat, North 24 Parganas. On 26 May 2008. 63 colleges which were formerly affiliated with the University of Calcutta are now under West Bengal State University. All the colleges offer undergraduate programs which are of 3 years except BEd which is of 2 years duration. The WB State University provides a number of postgraduate courses in various specializations. Post-Graduate program of the University is of in two years consisting of four semesters.
